THE DEPARTMENT OF ENT (EAR, NOSE AND THROAT) BRINGS TOGETHER THE BEST OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY, AUDIOLOGY, AND SPEECH THERAPY SCOPE OF SERVICES:

  • Consultations for Ear, Nose and Throat
  • Complex Head & Neck and Skull Base surgeries
  • Implantation of Hearing Aids

OUT-PATIENT SERVICES:

The outpatient unit is located in the ground floor of the hospital building. Necessary investigations are raised on Hospital Information System where all the investigations and treatment are generated electronically. All the investigations are provided with necessary clinical data and the prescription are generated in generic names suggesting appropriate dose, duration and route of administration.
The department also runs the special clinics on various days for the benefit of the general public.

SURGICAL PROCEDURES:

  • Adeno tonsillectomy
  • Grommet insertion for children with hearing impairment
  • Nose and sinus surgeries for sinusitis, nasal polyposis / nose bleeding
  • Skull base surgeries for CSF leak & brain ( pituitary ) tumor through nose
  • Cosmetic surgeries for fracture of nasal bone and crooked nose
  • Foreign body removal / DLscopy / oesophagoscopy/ Bronchoscopy
  • Tympanoplasty for eardrum rupture
  • Leaking ears with impaired hearing
  • Mastoidectomies for chronic ear infection
  • Stapedectomy for otosclerosis – ( Hearing defects )
  • Surgeries for snoring
  • Micro laryngeal surgeries for voice disorders
Such advanced surgical work is also made possible by the support services like high-resolution multislice CT scanner, MRI scanner and Angio- imaging and Embolisation services with the experienced anesthesiologist.

AUDIOLOGY AND SPEECH THERAPY:

In addition, the unit of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) works in close tandem with our team lending itself amply to the philosophy of multidisciplinary approach to solving patient’s problems, related to Audiology, Speech-Language and Auditory verbal therapy (AVT).

SPECIAL CLINICS:

The department conducts various special clinics Headache Clinic, Allergy Clinic, Cancer Clinic, Neuro-Otology Clinic on weekly scheduled days.

OUTREACH SERVICES:

Our department is constantly involved in various outreach activities striving to provide value-added services for the wellbeing of society. Through these camps, we screen and educate the general public on various health-related issues. In addition, we disperse medicines through these camps. We conduct awareness programme for the general public, school children etc., as we believe healthy people create a healthy nation.
