Qualification: M.Sc. (Food and Nutrition)
Experience: 6 – 12 years
Competency/skills required
- Knowledge and experience in hospital diet planning, portion sizes, nutritional requirements in varied ailments, age groups, and physiological states
- Nutritional counselling for therapeutic needs
- Sensory evaluation of food
- Maintenance of records: kitchen cleanliness, personnel hygiene, food evaluation
- Knowledge about food exchanges and portion sizes
- Diet planning tuned to patients’ food habits, culture, and taste
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Planning and execution of therapeutic diets
- Diet consultation for both in-patients and outpatients
- Providing therapeutic nutritional care for in-patients
- Updating of patient diet-related information in HIS and ensure billing for extra items
- Daily ward rounds to meet all the patients and note the changes if any with respect to therapeutic needs /food habits of the patients
- Supervision of the hospital kitchen and cafeterias
- Food tasting of all meals and supervision of patient tray plating
- Maintenance of records for quality check: food evaluation, kitchen cleanliness, health and hygiene records of the kitchen staff
- Organizing nutrition education and awareness programs for the public as a team with other health care personnel
- Report patient feedback /issues/concerns /all records to the Manager on a daily basis
- Any other responsibility as deemed fit, from time to time, by the reporting authority and the management.
