Department: Cardiology / Cath Lab

Job Summary:

The Cathlab Technician is responsible for assisting cardiologists and other medical professionals during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The role involves preparing and operating specialized equipment, monitoring patient status, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring accurate documentation of all procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the Cathlab and ensure all equipment is functional before procedures.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures (angiogram, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation, etc.).
• Monitor patient’s vital signs and ECG readings during procedures.
• Administer contrast media under supervision and ensure radiation safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain sterility and aseptic techniques during all procedures.
• Calibrate and maintain Cathlab equipment regularly.
• Record and document all procedure-related data accurately.
• Prepare and transport patients safely to and from the Cathlab.
• Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital standards.
• Provide post-procedure assistance and monitor patient recovery when required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma / B.Sc in Cathlab Technology or related discipline.

5–12 years of relevant experience in a Cathlab setting (preferred).

Knowledge of cardiac procedures and equipment operation.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Skills Required:

Strong technical knowledge of Cathlab equipment and imaging systems.

Attention to detail and ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control protocols.

Work Environment:

Hospital-based Cathlab environment.

May involve shift duties, on-call hours, and emergency procedures.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: As per industry standards / Negotiable based on experience
